Founded in Parma, Italy in 1999 and profitable since 2005, Buongiorno is an international success and a category leader.
It is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (BNG) but over 80% of sales come from outside Italy. Convinced that his subscription-based daily 'good morning' emails to friends might have commercial possibilities as paid digital content, Mauro Del Rio used their subject line to name Buongiorno and build a business for content for mobile telecommunications.
Achieving success at home, the Company entered Spain, Germany and the UK, expanding organically and through acquisitions, such as the 2003 purchase of music store Vitaminic; its 2004 acquisition of Gsmbox (adding mobile2TV voting capabilities); and the 2005 purchase of France's Freever.
In 2007 it acquired Silicon Valley's Rocket Mobile, an expert in Brew-based applications, followed by HotSMS and FlyTXT, who specialized in mobile marketing and loyalty. In 2007, Buongiorno acquired 100% of iTouch to become the world leader in mobile content development, and management of advanced mobile data solutions.
In 2011, Buongiorno is undergoing a refocusing change on its go to market B2C business line , materialized via the acquisition of Dada.net and the spin-off of the majority of its B2B business into a newly- established company called Lumata Group.
